Phase 1 environmental site assessments is the process by which a person or entity seeks to determine if a particular parcel of real property is subject to recognized environmental conditions. They were intended to satisfy the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability ACT (CERCLA) innocent landowner defense. QEPA conducts Phase I assessments that include a determination of environmental concerns, and environmental regulations. QEPA will evaluate and determine the need for a Phase II environmental assessment, which includes sampling and analysis of media. |
